Chongqing People's Assembly Hall

Chongqing People's Assembly Hall enjoys tremendous popularity in China and beyond for its distinctive architectural characteristics. It is mainly in the style of the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasty (1616 - 1911), combined with western architectural style. The assembly hall consists of two parts: the upper palace-style dome is built after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, implying praying for prosperity and peace while the lower part is a row of thick columns. The roof of People's Assembly Hall is adorned with multicolor neon lights, providing a superb opportunity for taking night photos. If you want to take a panoramic picture of this splendid hall, the Three Gorges Museum facing the hall is the best place without question.
As one of landmarks in Chongqing, People's Assembly Hall ranks in the top 10 of classical Asian architecture of the 20th century and the Classic Chinese Centennial Building of the 20th century.
